Opening Line
The first time I saw Tilly Westerfield with Joseph, my brother, was with my own eyes, although Grandfather I later realized had been there too.
Chapter 1
What followed was a baritone roar of almost subsonic power that seemed to physically shake Father despite his determined stance. The low continuous rumble of words spat out at Father gathered spittle at the corners of Grandfather’s mouth.

Chapter 1
"You go ahead without me. I'm not going to go from a cramped car ride to a cramped house. There's nothing to catch up with. It's small." Joseph in Korean let on his irritation in reply.
Chapter 3
Once we were starting to date, we ate a variety of foods, foods that I missed growing up in the US, and traveled throughout the country by bus, train, and taxi. We camped, crashed at road-side inns, and once in a while stayed at top regional hotels.
Chapter 4
Our visit to the park was pleasant, and even though I did most of the talking, I felt that Grandfather liked hearing me talk, hearing his grandchild talk, respectfully but also openly.
