Steven Kyusung Huh, a Korean American debut novelist born in Korea and educated in the US (UIUC, BA English Lit), lived abroad for 20 years after college and taught English composition to high school students in Korea and now in the US. He has appeared on Korean TV and periodicals somewhat as a sensation for his college counseling to US universities while faculty at a top flight Korean high school. He writes magic realism and historical fiction drawing on the folklore, shamanism, and cultural experiences of Korea and America. He currently lives in San Francisco with his wife, and their grown daughter visits when time permits from her work in Georgia. Their daughter born in Korea had been raised there up to her college years. He currently runs an after-school tutoring business with his wife in San Francisco.
